Beth-Ellen Keyes
Beth-Ellen Keyes is a corporate communications professional with strategic experience across many industries, including entertainment, internet and new media, publishing, financial services, healthcare and telecommunications, but her first love has always been the arts. A theatre major in college, Beth-Ellen divided her time (with a clear preference) between her studies at CCNY and stage-managing and producing theater off-Broadway. In the mid 1990s, Beth-Ellen repositioned her skills and focused on a career in conference and event production. In 1997, she established SpeakerSpace, a conference development and corporate communications consultancy. In September 2009. Beth-Ellen began a new chapter in her career, joining Brooklyn-based Misnomer Dance Theater as Managing Director.
Beth-Ellen’s clients at SpeakerSpace have included Variety Magazine, the Toy Industry Association, Richard Saul Wurman's TED conferences, Ziff Davis, Key3Media, govworks, Winstar and Creative Good. Prior to founding SpeakerSpace, Beth-Ellen managed Variety Magazine's portfolio of national conferences and events, including The Big Picture, ShowBiz Expo and the Los Angeles and Miami ShowBiz Summits.
For the past 15 years, Beth-Ellen has been an active participant in a number of non-profit organizations. She previously served on the Boards of Anthology Film Archives and the New Group (off-Broadway theatre company).
Currently she is a Board member of New York Women’s Agenda and the and a Foundation Board member of New York Women in Communications. Additionally, she is the producer of two annual seminal awards events for women in NYC -- NYWICI’s annual Matrix Awards and NYWA’s Star Breakfast. Currently, Beth-Ellen is a member of the Creative Coalition, New York Women in Film and Television, iMentor, Webgrrls, Step-Up Women’s Network and Emily's List. Additionally, she is the co-Founder of Boardwalk Films, an independent film finance and production company.
