Matching Grant Program by Music Empowers Foundation Helps More Than 1500 New Orleans Public School Children Benefit From Music Education Projects

In April 2010, Music Empowers Foundation announced a grant to DonorsChoose.org for a "Double Your Impact" program to help fund music education projects in New Orleans public schools. Under this program, monies provided by Music Empowers will fund 50% of the cost of each eligible music project submitted to DonorsChoose.org by teachers in New Orleans. The remainder will be funded by small individual contributions made via DonorsChoose.org. To date over a dozen projects have been funded impacting more than 1,500 public school children in New Orleans.
